  • Online Portal

    Our Online Portal provides you direct access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all the properties we service for you.  You can view full details of every property, last inspection dates, check status of orders and compliance plus more.  You can even make requests and update property details.

  • Proof of Compliance

    Every smoke alarm serviced and/or installed by our technicians is photographed, an Inspection sticker placed on the underside of the alarm showing the exact date and time the alarm was serviced.  These photographs and records in our data base provide a permanent record of service and compliance.

  • Entry Notices, Booked Appointments, Annual Inspections

    We schedule your jobs the way you and your tenants are most comfortable with.  We can issue Entry Notices and gain access through keys or book appointments directly with the tenants.  We continually monitor every property we service for you, and automatically schedule an attendance if not serviced in the last 12 months.  We maintain a comprehensive data base of every smoke alarm and we ensure that no smoke alarm in your property ever reaches its expiry date before we replace it.

  • Photoelectric Only

    Every smoke alarm we install is photoelectric (not ionisation) and listed with Activfire as an approved alarm.  For Queensland properties, all alarms are certified to AS3786-2014, which is a requirement unique to Queensland properties.

  • SMS Reminders

    Prior to attending any property, we send SMS reminder messages to tenants both the day before and on the actual day of attendance.  After each attendance, our technicians leave a Thank You card for the tenants which also advises the date and time we attended their home.

  • Reporting

    After every attendance you will receive a report of the inspection for your records.  In  most cases you will receive the report within 1 hour of our attendance, or by the end of the same day (you may choose the frequency).

  • Integrity

    Every technician and electrician is a direct employee (not a contractor), has undergone a National Police Check, is fully uniformed and will arrive in a sign written SAI vehicle.  He will treat you and your tenants with courtesy and respect.  Our technicians are comprehensively trained in all things smoke alarms, but also customer service and people skills.  They are brilliant ambassadors not just for SAI, but for you and your brand.  And all our technicians are local in the area where they work.  Locals looking after locals.

2022 Queensland Smoke Alarm Legislation

Everything changes for Queensland landlords in 2022, and in many cases they are not going to be happy.  By 1st January 2022, the smoke alarms in every Queensland rental property must be:

  • Installed in every bedroom of the property
  • Must be 240v or 10 year lithium alarms – 9v alarms will not be allowed
  • Must be photoelectric alarms – ionisation alarms (the most common form of alarm) will not be allowed
  • Must be interconnected so that if one alarms sounds, they all do

For most landlords, this will mean that every current smoke alarm must be replaced, and new ones installed, as very few homes have alarms inside bedrooms.  Depending on the number of bedrooms in their property this could cost them between $500 – $2,000.
